So far, our favorite memory from our trip to Southeast Asia has to be playing with elephants at Elephant Jungle Paradise Park near Chiang Mai, Thailand.
During our trip to Chiang Mai we went a day exploring the jungles of Northern Thailand on a zipline adventure tour. All in all we rode 18 ziplines, including one that was 800m long!
To start our Southeast Asia adventure we spent three days in Bangkok, Thailand. After getting rid of our jet-lag we explored the city, mainly shopping at the Chutuchak Weekend Market and relaxing at Queen Sirikit Park.
After a month of planning and preparations, we final left the states for Southeast Asia. It took us over 24 hours, but we finally made it to Bangkok, Thailand.
While we usually stay home and watch the ball drop on TV, this year we decided to celebrate New Years in New York City! Besides the New Year celebrations, we were able to hang out with our group of friends from Chicago.
Rather than staying in the United States for our entire gap year, we've decided to spend a month in Southeast Asia! During our trip we plan on traveling to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos.
During our month-long East Coast road trip, we took a break from driving and flew to New Orleans for a few days. While there we saw one of our favorite bands perform, spent Veteran's Day at the National WWII Museum, and tried local cuisine at a gumbo festival.
Since 2013, we have used Airbnb in the United States and internationally. Sometimes we rent the entire apartment, while other times we just rent a private room. However, every time we have had an amazing experience.
We cherish the memories we have made together on the road. However, traveling with your significant other can be stressful at times. To help other couples learn from our experiences, we wrote tips for traveling as a couple.
